Data handling

What happens to your HTML and URLs

Two paths, two rules. Paste stays with you. A live check runs through our relay. Both keep your work safe.

Pasted HTML

Stays in your browser

You paste HTML or text. The tool reads it in your tab. We never get a copy.

Nothing is sent to us. Close the tab and the copy is gone.

Live URL

Read by our relay

Your browser cannot fetch another site straight from the page. A site rule blocks it first.

So the URL goes through our relay on this domain, at /api/fetch/. Our server reads the page and sends it back to your tab.

What we keep

We keep very little. Here is the full list.

  • The address you check. It shows in our short-term access logs. We hold those logs for 30 days to find bugs and stop abuse.
  • Page views. We count visits with GA4, plus a cookieless visit count from our CDN. No other tracker runs.
  • Notes you send us. If you use the contact form, we hold your name and words so we can reply.

What we never keep

  • Pasted HTML or text. It never reaches us, so we cannot store it.
  • The fetched page. It is sent back to your tab and then dropped. We never log it and we never store it.
  • Your URL with a third party. No outside service sees it. Only our relay reads it.

Why the relay is needed

A page on one site cannot pull text from another site. The browser says no before the call leaves. That rule guards you on banks and mail. It also blocks our tools.

The fix is a first-party relay. Your tab asks our server. Our server reads the target page. Then it hands the text back to your tab. One hop, on this domain, with no third party in the chain.

For the legal text, read the privacy policy. This guide is the short plain version of the same rules.

FAQ

Data handling, in plain answers

Short answers to the questions readers ask before they paste HTML or check a live URL.

Does pasted HTML leave my browser?

No. When you paste HTML or text, the check runs in your tab. We never get a copy. Close the tab and the copy is gone.

What happens when I check a live URL?

The URL goes through our relay on this domain, at /api/fetch/. Our server reads the page and sends it back to your tab. That is the only way the check can run.

Do you log or store the fetched page?

No. The page is sent back to your tab and then dropped. We never log it and we never store it. The address stays in our short-term access logs for 30 days.

Does any third party see my URL?

No. Only our relay reads the URL. No outside service gets it. Pasted input stays in your browser, so no one else can see that either.

Where is the full legal copy?

On the privacy page. This guide is the short plain version. The privacy policy holds the legal text, the log rules, and your rights.
